Euphonik Songs & Bio

Euphonik Songs: Themba Mbongeni Nkosi (aka Euphonik), a prominent South African DJ, producer, and radio host, catapulted to notoriety in 2013 when his collaboration with DJ Fresh and Nyanda, “Cool and Deadly,” became a statewide smash. Nkosi began performing techno and house performances under the moniker Themba in 2017, and his star-studded 13th album, the dancefloor-filling house and EDM-tinged Perspective, was released in 2018.

Nkosi grew up in Mpumalanga, absorbing the music his father liked to, including Marvin Gaye, the Spinners, Hugh Masekela, and Stimela. He began DJing and immersing himself in the club scene in his late teens, and once his mixes began to receive radio play, he was granted a host spot on national radio station 5FM.

In 2004, he collaborated with fellow South African DJ DJ Kent to create the LP Kentphonik. He spent the following three years honing his style, a hybrid of vocal house and EDM, while also advancing his radio career at 5FM and regional station YFM. In 2006, he signed a record deal with Soul Candi, and in 2009, he founded F.Eu with longtime friend and partner DJ Fresh, with whom he has since released four albums and performed DJ performances in hot areas like Ibiza and Miami.

Nkosi and DJ Fresh collaborated with Jamaican vocalist Nyanda for the single “Cool and Deadly,” which topped the South African charts in 2013, and in 2014 he won a Metro FM music award for Best Compilation Album for the LP For the Love of House, Vol. 5 and the single “Busa,” and in 2017 he added techno to his oeuvre and began performing under the name Themba. Perspective, his 13th LP as Euphonik, was released in 2018, with a guest spot-heavy and party-starting compilation. “I’m Worthy (ft. Kelly Fortuin”)” and “All the Moves,” the latter a duet with DJ Thakzin and Leko M.
